Iran's decision to break the seals of the IAEA and to resume its nuclear program has alarmed its friends and enemies. Representatives from China, Germany, Britain, France, Russia and Iran are meeting in London on Monday in an emergency session to discuss the crisis.
Iran says it is not afraid of UN sanctions and vows to retaliate against any punitive measures with a dramatic rise in oil prices. President Mahmund Ahamednejed calls for his people to get prepared for a war against the US. But have diplomatic means been exhausted? Is military option on the table? What will be the prospects for the current standoff?

Russia, China urge more talks
Pressure on Iran is growing as some European countries and the United States, push plans to refer it to the UN Security Council over its nuclear activities. But Russia and China, both permanent members of the Council, are calling for negotiation, not confrontation. This, after Tehran removed UN seals last week from its uranium enrichment facility.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said talks between Iran and the European Union should resume, but only if Tehran returns to its moratorium on uranium enrichment.
He went on to say that Moscow is not ready to refer Iran to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions.
Sergei Lavrov said: "Sanctions are not the best or the only way to solve international problems. We remember the history of sanctions against Iraq and know how it all ended. " (I cut a sentance here! - Lizi)
China is also appealing for a negotiated settlement to the standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
Kong Quan, Spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry said: "The Chinese government holds that the peaceful settlement of this issue through diplomatic negotiation is a good choice and serves the interests of all sides. We think the top priority is that all parties remain patient and do all they can to restore the negotiations between Iran and the three European Union countries."
This comes after key UN Security Council members meeting in London said Iran must fully suspend its nuclear program. But they failed to agree on whether to refer the issue to the Security Council. Without the support of China and Russia, it's doubtful the International Atomic Energy Agency, meeting early next month, will achieve the unified political will to agree to Security Council involvement.
