How did you become the host for Rediscovering China?

I arrived in Beijing in September 2003 eagerly looking for work in the media as that was the background I had just come from. And after only 3 months of looking here and there I found an advert posted on the internet for CCTV-9, the English Channel, offering this job to the ideal candidate! I applied and was given an interview鈥.along with around 40 other people apparently, and just one week later I was chosen! I couldn鈥檛 believe it鈥 was so happy and couldn鈥檛 really believe that I鈥檇 managed it! To work for a Chinese television station is a big enough accomplishment as it is, but to work for the international channel is marvellous!
