Kenyan airports have beefed up security in response to the Gulf situation, police spokesman Kingori Mwangi disclosed here Thursday.
Mwangi said security has been beefed up in major Kenyan cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret to ensure that all visitors are free from terrorist attacks.
Kenyan national carrier, Kenya Airways, is asking passengers to check-in early. Travelers on international flights need to report to the airport three hours before departure, while it's two hours for domestic flights.
Kenya Cargo Airlines has introduced compulsory screening of all cargo and a cooling period for all general cargo shipments.
The move came as Kenya called for a quick resolution to the Iraqi conflict in order to minimize consequences of the war.
