US not to allow Saddam in power after start of war: White House

The White House said Thursday that the United States will not allow Iraqi President Saddam

Hussein to stay in power after the war began. "After the military actions began, we have no intention of leaving Saddam Hussein in Iraq," White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer told a news briefing.

He said if Iraqi leadership turns themselves in, that will be "very welcomed."
