Qiao Guanhua and Zhang Hanzhi

People of the elder generation in China may remember very clearly the name of Qiao Guanhua. Mr. Qiao Guanhua was the Chinese Foreign Minister during the 1970s. He was the first top Chinese diplomat at the UN after the legitimate position of China was restored during the Cold War. His relaxed and broad smile, particularly his personal charm dominated the headline of the western media for quite a few years during the war and that presented somehow China’s diplomatic triumphs.

Today we are honored to have his wife Madam Zhang Hanzhi, president of China International Associations for Development, to be here on our program.

Zhang Hanzhi’s family has a very special relationship with late Chairman Mao Zedong and her own life is a touching story as you may discover in the following interview.
