On Monday, Chinese stars were shining bright, with pop singer and actor Andy Lau walking the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film "A Simple Life." Let's take a look.

Andy Lau was joined for the event by fellow cast members Deanie Ip and Qin Hailu, as well as director Ann Hui.

The film is being shown in competition at this year's festival. Inspired by a true story, the film tells about a heartwarming relationship between a young master of a big family, played by Lau, and the servant of the family who raised him, Sister Peach.

It's Lau and Ip's third collaboration after 1988's "The Truth" and 1999's "Princess Charming."

"A Simple Life" is one of 23 films competing for the coveted Golden Lion, the winner of which will be announced on Saturday.
