Tickets are available for some World Cup soccer finals matches including a reportedly "sold out" match between England and Sweden on Sunday, the Japan World Cup organizing committee said .
In a change of policy, JAWOC said early Sunday it will sell tickets for the day's match to be held at Saitama Stadium 2002, on the Web site of soccer's world governing body FIFA.
JAWOC had initially decided not sell tickets on match days in line with FIFA regulations for security reasons.
But JAWOC officials said they changed the policy after discovering some tickets offered abroad remained unsold.
According to JAWOC, it will accept orders for 2,600 tickets through the Internet until Sunday noon for the match between England and Sweden.
JAWOC estimates there will be about 2,000 empty seats at each upcoming match, as some tickets distributed to each nation's football association and sponsor companies were not sold or not given to ticket buyers.
